Roger Jenkinson, R.I.P.

It is with great sadness that we have learnt of the passing of Roger who has fought bravely against illness for some time and who was President of the Woodplumpton Vets Bowling League through the difficult Covid problems.

He is fondly remembered as a very happy, friendly man who put 100% effort into everything he did.
Roger and Scorton Bowling Club can be truly proud of the events they hosted during his Presidency years.

A good friend who will will sorely missed.

WVBL - Doubles Day.
The Woodplumpton Veterans Bowling League would sincerely like to thank Sean Wilkinson and his team at Owd Nells for their continued support and for the use of their excellent Bowling Green and facilities.

Throughout the day The Doubles Day competition produced some really close matches, despite the very poor weather.

The Semi-final results are as follows: -
Dave Holden & Mick Worden (Owd Nells) beat Gary Saxon & Phil Pickford (Elswick) (21-3)
Jim Kenny & Paul Taylor beat Gary Brash & Peter Sutcliffe (Nateby) (21-19)

In the Final: -
Jim Kenny & Paul Taylor beat Dave Holden & Mick Worden (Owd Nells) (21-18)

Congratulations to the winners and commiserations to the runners up.

Thanks again, for the second week running, to the League President, Darrel Edwards, for being in attendance and for being 'The Man on the Mic'
