It is with great sadness to report the passing of Alan Noblet on Saturday 11th April. Alan was a member of the Barton Bowling Club for many years. He was part of the team who built the new pavilion; President of the club twice; a team captain; greensman and general fixer upperer. It would be impossible to count the number of hours “Nobby” spent on and around the green, making it a better place for all members. He will be sorely missed his presence, support and friendship.

Garstang Subscription Bowling Club advises that parking is not permitted on the private car park owned by Garstang Community Sports Club. (ie. the tennis/football club entrance).

The owners rent the spaces out and need them to be kept free at all times.

There is a public car park off the High Street and an entrance to the club from there.

Charges apply.

Due to the inclement weather there were multiple postponements in the 1^st round of the cup competition on 25^th March. We have decided to give those that were unable to play until Saturday June 13^th (Presidents day) to rearrange and play their game on the same neutral green. If this is a problem, please notify Neil the fixture secretary who will try to find an alternative

ROAD CLOSURE NEAR WOODPLUMPTON BOWLING CLUB UNTIL 4TH MAY PLEASE CHECK AND ALLLOW EXTRA TIME. Over the next 12 months the roads around the bowling club, Bartle lane and Sandy Lane will be excavated for sewerage pipe work, as part of the 2 year house building plan next to the club/new road. Visitors to the club are advised to give a little extra travel time as there may be diversions and or temporary traffic lights in the area. Your vehicle may get dirty too.
