LEAGUE MERIT DAY AT BROUGHTON.
The League Merit Day Competition at Broughton Bowling and Social Club on Saturday September 14th was won by Matt Nelson (Acregate Labour A) who beat Dave Holden (Owd Nells Tavern T.F.) 21-7. In the semi-finals, Matt beat Chris Dransfield (Owd Nells Tavern F.T.) 21-8, and Dave beat Matt Brown (Deepdale Ramblers) 21-13.

PRESIDENT`S DAY AT BROUGHTON.
The President`s Day Competition at Broughton Bowling and Social Club on Sunday July 21st was won by Chris Dransfield (Owd Nells Tavern F.T.) who beat David West (Thurlby) 21-13. In the semi-finals, Chris beat Mike Knowles (Woodplumpton B) 21-15, and David beat Roger Livesey (Roebuck) 21-19. The Day was well attended in Mel`s honour and his family very generously provided a large hamper of goodies for the worthy winner.

It is with deepest regret that we announce the sudden passing of our President, Mel Johnson of Broughton on Thursday last. The League Committee and all members offer their condolences to Mel`s family and friends.
