League meeting dates reminder.
Reminder of dates for league meetings: The Presentation and league meeting will be held on Thursday 7th November at 7pm. We have received interest from two teams looking to join the league with two vacancies currently. I would encourage all teams to check with their players and confirm their participation before the November meeting to allow us to plan for the 2025 season in good time. 2025 AGM to be on Thursday 9th January 7pm. Both meetings will be at Whittingham Club. Please refer to rule 8 regarding the fine for non-attendance at either meeting. Please arrange for your team to be represented to avoid a бё20 fine.

PRESIDENTS DAY.
The President;s Day celebrating 100 years of the league was held at Woodplumpton Bowling club on Saturday. It was very well attended and only 2 teams gave apologies. The winner was Matt Draper (Barton) who beat Gary Daw (Owd Nells TT) 21-15. The losing semi-finalists were Harry Fleetwood (Parkfield B) and Dave Salisbury (St Anthony;s). Many thanks to Woodplumpton BC and it;s team of helpers for an excellent day, with fabulous catering and hospitality. Also to Sylvia Watson and Linda Mallinson for ensuring the competition ran smoothly.

MEL JOHNSON BROUGHTON A.
The league is deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Broughton A Captain Mel Johnson this week following a short illness. Mel was a true gentleman and a stalwart of Broughton club who will be sorely missed by everyone and our sincere condolences go out to his family and friends.

**CUP DRAW CHANGES PLEASE READ ALL TEAMS**.
Having listened to the feedback from host clubs and captains on concerns over sodden greens we;re going to give two Wednesday;s for the Prelim round to be played on 20th March and 27th March. PLEASE SEE UPDATED CUP DRAW. Those greens fit for play (as things stand if no further heavy rain) will host games this week as planned on 20th March. Those greens already deemed NOT fit will be given another week and the aim is for those matches to be played on March 27th. If any game has to be postponed this week due to inclement weather it can be played the week after. **ALL 1ST ROUND GAMES ORIGINALLY SCHEDULED FOR 27TH MARCH HAVE BEEN POSTPONED ; MOVED TO 4TH SEPTEMBER AFTER THE LEAGUE SEASON** CUP SEMI-FINALS 11TH SEPT. CUP FINALS 18TH SEPT

Access to Woodplumpton Bowling Club.
Due to the flooding at the junction of the new road and Sandy Lane, access to Woodplumpton BC is limited to Bartle Lane from the Sitting Goose end, or Tabley Lane , junction Sandy Lane near the village. It doesn't look like its going to be fixed any time soon

LEAGUE BUSINESS SECRETARY POSITION FILLED.
We are pleased to announce the position of League Business Secretary has now been filled! Peter Watson has agreed to continue with the running of the league in the background in a reduced role as Treasurer supported also by the fixture secretary. Thankfully this means the league can continue next season in it's centenary year.
